The Saturday before Thanksgiving, and the long version: Calysta Cheyenne sings jazz standards in the Barrel Room from 6 to 9, a three-hour night of live jazz in downtown Ashland before the relatives arrive.
Calysta Cheyenne sings the Great American Songbook: Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday are the influences, and you can hear all four by the second song. Calysta trained for nearly two decades with vocal coach Ken Orsow here in Ashland, studied vocal jazz at Berklee College of Music, and now drives down from Portland for these nights.
The show is in the Barrel Room at Resistance Wine Co., 322 N Pioneer St in downtown Ashland. There's no cover. Walk in, or reserve a spot to be sure of a seat. Kids are welcome until 9 PM; 21+ to drink. We pour Syrah, Malbec and Cab by the glass, the flight or the bottle. The Allium's wood-fired pizza runs until 8 on Saturdays. Pick up a bottle for Thursday while you're here; it's cheaper than the argument.

About the act
Jazz vocals · Great American Songbook · Portland, Oregon
Calysta Cheyenne sings jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, which is a polite way of saying Calysta can make a room full of wine drinkers go quiet on a Saturday. Calysta has been singing that catalogue across Oregon since their teens, trained for nearly two decades with vocal coach Ken Orsow here in Ashland, then studied vocal jazz at Berklee College of Music.

Yes, until 9 PM. Kids are welcome at every event before nine, as long as they don't use the barrels as bongos.
Yes, if they're cool. If your dog's nicer than most humans — perfect. If not, maybe let them guard the couch instead.
Syrah, Malbec, Cab Sauv, Tempranillo, Sauvy B, Chenin Blanc, Rosé, and whatever other rebellious surprises we bottled last.
Heck ya. We love throwing parties. Birthdays, shows, divorces, board meetings — we don't judge. Just know the wine will upstage your PowerPoint. Plan a private event →
Whatever you can spill Syrah on without crying. Although, Lin usually has a Tide Stick in their bag for emergencies. Somm things.
Yes. The Allium Wood-Fired Pizza feeds our event nights: charcuterie, empanadas, wood-fired pies, pastas, salads, potato-chip pairings and chocolates. The Allium's wood-fired pizza truck keeps its own hours, usually 11 AM–8 PM; Friday Night Pizza Night runs 5–8 PM. The Allium is a separate business and sometimes caters offsite events, so check with them before coming just for pizza. Plan on coming hungry.
