Reggae in a downtown Ashland tasting room is not the most obvious booking we have made. We suspect it's one of the better ones. Alcyon Massive brings a reggae set to the tasting room on Saturday, October 10, with guitarist Nick Garrett-Powell sitting in.
Alcyon Massive is the project of producer and songwriter Charlie Blake: more than 15 years in the Pacific Northwest, somewhere between hip-hop, roots rock, folk and reggae, with a live looping rig doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Nick Garrett-Powell has toured internationally with The Fret Drifters and opened for Tommy Emmanuel and Eric Johnson, so the guitar is in good hands.
It's in the tasting room at Resistance Wine Co., 322 N Pioneer St in downtown Ashland. There's no cover. Walk in, or reserve a spot to be sure of a seat. Kids are welcome until 9 PM; 21+ to drink. We pour Syrah, Malbec and Cab by the glass, the flight or the bottle. The Allium's wood-fired pizza runs until 8 on Saturdays. Bring someone who says they don't dance.

Yes, if they're cool. If your dog's nicer than most humans — perfect. If not, maybe let them guard the couch instead.
Syrah, Malbec, Cab Sauv, Tempranillo, Sauvy B, Chenin Blanc, Rosé, and whatever other rebellious surprises we bottled last.
Heck ya. We love throwing parties. Birthdays, shows, divorces, board meetings — we don't judge. Just know the wine will upstage your PowerPoint. Plan a private event →
Whatever you can spill Syrah on without crying. Although, Lin usually has a Tide Stick in their bag for emergencies. Somm things.
Yes. The Allium Wood-Fired Pizza feeds our event nights: charcuterie, empanadas, wood-fired pies, pastas, salads, potato-chip pairings and chocolates. The Allium's wood-fired pizza truck keeps its own hours, usually 11 AM–8 PM; Friday Night Pizza Night runs 5–8 PM. The Allium is a separate business and sometimes caters offsite events, so check with them before coming just for pizza. Plan on coming hungry.
