The Fret Drifters

The Fret Drifters are the award-winning duo of Andy Casad and Nick Garrett-Powell, out of Southern Oregon. Two heavily modified acoustic guitars and a pile of effects pedals, played by slapping, tapping and drumming on them until they sound like instruments they are not. Technical wizardry is their phrase, not ours, but we watched and can't argue. They played the Barrel Room in September. If you have only seen Nick solo, this is the same guitar player with fewer places to hide and one more person to blame.
